EXCLUSIVE: Malia Obama Visits Brown this Weekend

President and Michelle Obama’s oldest daughter was back at Brown University this weekend.

Malia Obama has reportedly narrowed her college selection to Brown and a number of other schools including many Ivy League schools. Malia was visiting a friend at Brown this weekend and stayed in Morris Hall at Brown. Security around the dorm building was high and visible.

GoLocalProv has exclusively reported last March that Barack and Michelle Obama’s oldest daughter visited Brown University last spring as part of her college tour process. Brown has previously had two Presidential children attend - Amy Carter attended in the 1980’s and John Kennedy, Jr., also attended Brown.

According to a recent NYTimes story, Malia is looking at a number of Ivy Schools as part of her college selection process.

As GoLocal reported last March:

Malia Obama, the daughter of the President will tour Brown. According to press sources, she has previously visited NYU, Columbia, Stanford and Cal Berkley.  If the first daughter selected Brown University it would be the second President’s daughter to attend Brown - Amy Carter attend in the 1980s. John Kennedy Jr., the son of John F. Kennedy, attended Brown as well. Malia has a Brown connection as her uncle, Craig Robinson, coached the Brown Men’s Basketball Team from 2006 to 2008. 

He was one of Brown’s most successful coaches and left to Coach Oregon State University.  Brown University She presently attends Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. The school has been attended by other Presidential children including, Chelsea Clinton, Tricia Nixon Cox, and Archibald Roosevelt (the son of Theodore Roosevelt).

Malia and her sister Sasha were named two of "The 25 Most Influential Teens of 2014" by Time. According to sources, neither the First Lady nor the President is expected to accompany Malia on the trip to Providence.
