Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo Bowed Out of Being a Judge For Miss USA Pageant

Olivia Culpo, winner of the 2012 Miss Universe, bows out from being a judge for this year's Miss USA pageant in protest to Donald Trump's comments about Mexicans.  Trump owns the pageant.

Culpo was originally slated to be a judge for Miss USA before Trump made his comments about Mexico and immigrants.  

Trump said, "The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems...They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime; they're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

"My immediate gut reaction was to withdraw my involvement in the pageant, but I felt such a sense of obligation to the employees at the Miss Universe organization" said Culpo. 

She made her decision to officially drop out of being a judge, "Unfortunately, though, I had to pull away from the pageant, because I could not be involved with a clear conscience."

The competition took place July 12th, and the winner was Oklahoma's Olivia Jordan. Trump was not on hand for the comptition because he was campaigning in Arizona and sent out a tweet saying, "I will not be able to attend the Miss USA pageant tomorrow night because I am campaigning in Phoenix. Wishing all well!"
