Former Providence and New Haven Police Chief Esserman Hired at Quinnipiac University

Quinnipiac University has hired Dean Esserman - the former Providence and New Haven Police Chief as public safety expert.

"Dean Esserman came aboard today as a senior professional-in-residence for emergency management response," said Vice President for Quinnipiac University public affairs Lynn Bushnell. "He will examine the university's emergency response plans to make sure we're using the best practices to keep the university community as safe as possible,” reported NBC Connecticut.

Esserman, one of the most controversial public officials in America. He was forced out as Police Chief in Providence after GoLocalProv reported that he hosted a house party for his daughter’s high school graduation and allowed children to bring alcohol and drugs to the party.

He then landed as Chief in New Haven and was forced out of that position after a series of events, including threatening to close down the Army v. Yale football game. Esserman was furious that young Yale athletic department staffer asked Esserman for a ticket.
