Hunter Biden, son of United States President Joe Biden, was found guilty on Tuesday of three felony counts tied to a handgun purchase in 2018.

Hunter Biden could now face up to 25 years in prison and $750,000 in fines.

Biden was accused of illegally purchasing and possessing a firearm in October 2018 while using a narcotic; he is the first child of a sitting president to be convicted of a crime.

The University of Virginia’s Jennifer Lawless recently joined GoLocal Live to discuss the whirlwind of legal issues impacting the presidential election.

"To the political side of it, first, I actually think that it's good news for Democrats who can refute claims on the Republican side about what they view as this two-tiered system of justice that's targeting Republicans and Donald Trump.
