A man was shot in Providence — as he was reportedly going to get food.

According to police, officers responded to Rhode Island Hospital shortly before 4 PM on Monday for a report of a shooting victim.

Police said the victim — a male in his 30s — told them that he had been walking on Broad Street to go to Me Sueno to get food.

The victim said he was crossing the street when he heard a gunshot, and realized he had been hit in his arm.

He was reportedly driven to the hospital where he was dropped off.

Detectives are currently investigating.
