Multiple Shootings in Providence: One Dead, Three Wounded, Police Break Up Massive Parties
According to Providence Police, the homicide occurred at a "pop-up” party in which hundreds of individuals had gathered at different spots, moving throughout the city.
A 28-year-old male was shot in killed on Dupont Drive off of Route 10 shortly after midnight Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday afternoon, Providence Police identified the victim as Jerry Cardona.
Multiple Shootings — Cranston and State Police Called-In
Bullet Found Above Teenager’s Bed
Shortly after 7 PM Tuesday night, police responded to a report of shots fired into a residence on Hillhurst Avenue in Silver Lake.
Residents told police they heard a loud “bang” - officers reported ballistic damage to the front of the residence, and a bullet lodged into the wall above a juvenile’s bed.
A shell casing was found on a couch in the residence.
Two Shot in South Providence
Police responded to a call for a shooting in South Providence off of Broad Street shortly after midnight.
Police say they arrived and encountered a block party of hundreds of people and called for assistance from Cranston and State Police to break it up.
A 15-year-old female was shot while inside a house with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police later met with a male victim at the hospital who said he had been shot at while in the area of the block party; he had reportedly been grazed with a bullet and was treated.
Man Shot in Leg
Police responded to the 300 block of Elmwood Avenue at approximately 1:30 AM Wednesday morning for a report of a man shot.
Upon arrival, police met with the victim — a male in his 20s — on the floor of the apartment with a bullet wound to his leg.
The victim told police he had gotten into an argument with an unknown male suspect — who shot him before fleeing.
Rescue transported the victim to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
