A man was stabbed during a fight in Providence on Saturday afternoon, and a man is in custody.

The reported assault happened off of Admiral Street.

About Incident

Shortly after 4 PM on Saturday, police responded to General Street for a report of an assault.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they encountered the victim - a male in his 30s - who had lacerations to his head and arms.

He was transported by rescue to the hospital for treatment.

According to witnesses, the victim and another male had been fighting earlier in the day.

Police say that the suspect was located a short while later inside a residence and arrested.
