Matos Issues Statement on Charges Against Congressional Campaign Worker for Fraudulent Signatures

Matos' campaign worker Christopher Cotham is facing two misdemeanor charges of giving false documents to an agent, employee, or public official and two felony charges of “violations as to nomination papers.” He pled not guilty on March 2 and is due in court on Thursday.

Rhode Island Lt. Governor Sabina Matos was the front-runner to win the Democratic nomination and replace David Cicilline in the House of Representatives in the first district.

Matos had just come off winning a Democratic primary and a contested general election to be elected Lt. Governor.
