Goggin posted the following to Facebook:
"Life update - Tomorrow is my last day at WPRI 12. It's bittersweet news to share. We love Rhode Island.
I didn't know many people when I moved here four years ago. I came to Providence hoping to take the next step in my career and cut down on the distance between me and Travis. I couldn't have imagined everything that would happen next.
Professionally, I was able to cover countless breaking news stories, co-anchor one of our weekday broadcasts, travel to the Florida panhandle as people began rebuilding after Hurricane Michael, take a deep dive into how burn pits could be affecting the health of our troops overseas, follow a Providence mother's journey to becoming a U.S. citizen, and report on a pandemic that has affected nearly every sector of this community.
During my time here, I grew as a journalist and as a person. Travis and I constantly say we've lived a lot in the last four years. We got engaged on a beach in Newport, planned a wedding from our home in Foxboro, got married, and came home to endure our greatest test so far. It was in the days and weeks after I had my stroke that this community stood by us. To every person who cheered me on as I recovered - thank you. Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but I'd argue it has the biggest heart.
This community is what makes saying goodbye so difficult. To the staff and volunteers at Special Olympics Rhode Island and the American Heart Association, thank you for adopting me as one of your own. I will continue to champion your causes.
To the loyal Channel 12 viewers, I cannot thank you enough. We exist for you. I am so grateful for every person who has trusted me to share their story. It is an honor to give them a voice.
To my family at WPRI - the photographers, reporters, anchors, producers, directors, managers, and every other member of our team ... thank you for your friendship. I will miss you most.
With that being said, I'm excited to announce my next move isn't too far from here. In July, I will be joining the team at 7News - WHDH Boston! I am beyond excited to continue my reporting career in an area that means so much."
