NEW: Highest One-Day Total for COVID-19 Cases in RI

The Rhode Island Department of Health announced Friday 437 new cases of COVID-19 over the past day for 6,699 cases in total.

The amount is the highest one-day total to date.

There were 13 COVID-19 associated fatalities for a total now of 202 deaths. 

267 cases are currently in hospitals with 77 in ICU and 48 on ventilators.

On Friday, the U.S. hit 50,000 confirmed COVID-19 deaths, “outpacing expert predictions.”
