Providence Public School Teacher Arrested for Child Molestation

A Providence public school teacher has been arrested on child molestation charges, GoLocal has learned.

Joseph Teno, a teacher at Esek Hopkins Middle School on Charles Street, was arraigned on Thursday morning. 

Teno, age 51, is facing two counts of second-degree child molestation.

"We did make an arrest; right now we're in communication with the school department," Detectives Major David Lapatin confirmed to GoLocal. "We'll have more to say shortly."

The Providence Public Schools Department refused to respond to multiple requests for comment.
