Providence Ranks Poorly for People With Disabilities

WalletHub looked at 182 cities, and Rhode Island’s capital city came in #166 overall.
“When searching for a new home, people with disabilities often have a longer and more complicated list of considerations compared with other individuals,” wrote WalletHub. “In addition to common wish-list items, such as reliable public transportation and diverse entertainment options, people with disabilities also must think about things like the accessibility of facilities or even the cleanliness of the air.”

Best and Worst
The best city for people with disabilities in the rankings was Minneapolis, Minnesota. The worst was Gulfport, Missouri.
In the subcategories that determined the list, Providence ranked #165 for “economy,” #98 for “quality of life,” and #132 for “healthcare.”
No New England city ranked lower.
