NEW: URI Starts Construction on $42M Dorm

In a news release, the university said the dorm, known as Hillside Hall, would be the “most energy efficient residence hall” on campus and would house freshmen and sophomores.
Top state and university officials expected to turn out for the groundbreaking include: Governor Lincoln Chafee; Lorne Adrain, chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education; Ray M. DiPasquale, commissioner of higher education; and president of the Community College of Rhode Island, David M. Dooley.
