One of the Individuals Involved in 1,000-Person Melee Near PC Is Arrested

While a number of individuals could be seen smashing a white VW early on Saturday morning in a video secured by GoLocal, and others were involved with assaults, Providence Police announced that one man has been arrested, who they say was involved in the melee near Providence College on Saturday, November 1. Police estimated the crowd to be 1,000.

 

Providence Police reported the arrest of 18-year-old Connor N. King in connection with the vandalism incident on Radcliffe Avenue. No other arrests have been made in connection with the vandalism of the Jetta or the reported assaults. At least three individuals were reported to be hospitalized from injuries during the melee.

“After an extensive review of video footage, King was identified as the individual wearing a ‘Boston Celtics’ jersey who was observed shattering the driver’s side window of a white Volkswagen Jetta and jumping on the vehicle. A warrant had been issued for his arrest,” said Providence Police in a statement.

  

King was taken into custody by the East Providence Police Department and later turned over to Providence Police. King was charged with one count of Vandalism (RIGL 11-44-1) and one count of Disorderly Conduct (RIGL 11-45-1). 

 

The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives will pursue appropriate charges against any additional individuals identified.
