Two men can be seen smashing the window of a VW during the melee on Radcliffe Street.
On Halloween night, just after midnight, Providence Police were called to a massive disturbance in the area of Eaton Street and Radcliffe Avenue, in the area of Providence College, involving approximately 1,000 people that police described as both students and non-students.

When police went to Radcliffe, they said they found a destroyed white VW Jetta and were approached by one man bleeding heavily from the head. The destruction of the VW and the removal of items from the car can be seen in the video.

Due to the overwhelming number of people fighting, Police called units in from across the city to respond to the crowd.

One victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Providence rescue. Police said that multiple others involved took themselves to Miriam Hospital for treatment.

In another incident, a man told police that four to five unknown male subjects wearing balaclava-style facial coverings approached him and struck him multiple times in the face as he fell to the ground. A man who tried to give aid said he was hit in the head with a Don Julio Tequila bottle multiple times.

According to the police, it took more than two hours to disperse the crowd. Twenty police officers were involved in the incident.

Police said they received numerous calls for public disturbances, shots fired, loud music, large crowds, and assaults relating to the Eaton Street area that evening.

Providence College officials did not respond to requests for comment.
