Police Investigating Possible Illegal Marijuana Operation at Pawtucket Armory Complex

Pawtucket Police are investigating a possible illegal marijuana operation in the city.

The location? The former site of the Gamm Theatre, located in the Pawtucket Armory Complex. 

The Gamm moved to its new location in Warwick in 2017.

“The City and Pawtucket Police Department are aware of a possible unlawful marijuana growth center,” said Will Aborleda, spokesperson for Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebien.

“In order to keep the integrity of this ongoing investigation, there is no further information that can be provided at this time," said Aborleda. "The City always promotes and supports all small businesses done in a lawful manner, but will not tolerate businesses that are done illegally or without the proper required permits.”

“We thank the Pawtucket Police Department for their ongoing efforts on this matter,” he added. “We are confident that they will continue to do their due diligence in keeping our community safe and hold anyone involved accountable.”

Pawtucket police said they would be releasing more information as they know more.

According to city records, the Pawtucket Armory ArtsComplex is currently owned by Josephs Properties LLC located at 300 Gay Street in Manchester, New Hampshire. 

There are no listed phone numbers for the address. 

Carl Levin, the registered agent in Rhode for the LLC, did not respond to request for comment at time of publication.
