I think one of the biggest challenges that I've had as this community's leader is just managing uncertainty and anxiety and frankly just trying to be transparent,” said Folan, who came to PCD after serving at Hilltop Country Day in New Jersey.
He said communication is paramount with the faculty and students.
"Having a town hall [every other week], so that we could really echo back to our students and families in real-time 'this is what you're telling us, here's how we're making adjustments' and I think that has to be part of our plan moving forward to the fall in the winter," said Folan.
On Wednesday, PCD hosts an online Open House for families. The event begins at 4:00 PM.
“We really just wanted to position us as a resource for families who are grappling with do we make a shift, and we also just want to share here are some of our best practices that we think would serve students and families well regardless of if you come to Providence Country Day or you stay in your current environment,” said Folan.
While the pandemic was unexpected and caused a difficult transition for some, Falon said he was "amazed" at how well the PCD community adapted and collaborated.
