Prov Preservation Society Receives Tourism Council, Heritage Harbor Grants

Providence Preservation Society awarded two grants
The Providence Preservation Society (PPS) announced that it has received awards from two Rhode Island grant-making organizations supporting its advocacy and education work.

Providence Tourism Council Award

The Providence Tourism Council (PTC) has pledged to support PPS’ Winter Bash by awarding a $1,500 grant to PPS to bolster its marketing and advertising activities for the event.

The Winter Bash highlights underutilized historic spaces in Providence and educates attendees on the importance of preservation advocacy.

The event attracts visitors from around New England and is a three-time RI Monthly Best of Rhode Island award winner.

The 2019 Winter Bash will be held on Saturday, February 23 in the newly renovated Bomes Theater.

Heritage Harbor Foundation Award

The Heritage Harbor Foundation has awarded PPS a $10,000 grant for interpretive panel design and video for PPS’ planned informational kiosk.

This iconic Providence institutional building will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2019, and PPS will launch a project to significantly improve the educational resources available to all School House visitors.
