Providence VA Lands Grant for $4.4 Million

The grant is another positive step for the Veteran’s hospital’s continued growth in Providence.
"We continue to make progress in building infrastructure for heart and lung diseases research in RI,” said Dr. Gaurav Choudhary, a principal investigator.

This award will fund new and continuing initiatives for five years, and support pilot projects as well as two technical cores, the Cell Isolation and Organ Function Core and the Mitochondrial Function and In Vivo Imaging Core directed by Dr. Elizabeth Harrington and Dr. Peng Zhang.
“We’re very proud of our investigators and research staff based at the Providence VA, and the benefit research provides for Veterans,” said Lawrence Connell, VA Providence Director.
Connell was selected as one of GoLocal’s 22 to Watch in RI in 2022.
OSRI is a non-profit corporation affiliated with the Providence VA Medical Center. Its mission is to promote and conduct research and education activities to improve the health and lives of Veterans.
