Raimondo Orders U.S. & RI Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Texas Shooting Victims

Raimondo has ordered that the U.S. and Rhode Island flags at all state facilities and buildings be flown a half-staff
Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo has ordered that the U.S. and Rhode Island flags at all state facilities and buildings be flown a half-staff until sunset on November 9 in honor of the victims of the shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

The shooting took place on Sunday at the First Baptist Church, killing 26 people and wounding another 20.

It as the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history.

"My heart breaks for the victims of yesterday's shooting Sutherland Springs. Andy and I send our thoughts and prayers to victims, but we also pray that leaders in Washington find the courage to make changes that will prevent the next tragedy,” said Raimondo.

Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders lower their flags as a mark of respect.
