RWU to Celebrate the Late President Farish's Life on Wednesday

Farish, who died on July 5, 2018, served as RWU’s 10th president, leading the transformation of RWU into a vital institution devoted to community engagement, college affordability and equity. The was planning to retire at the end of 2018.
Wednesday’s event, “Celebrate President Farish: His Life and Legacy,” will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the RWU Recreation Center on the Bristol campus. A reception will follow at 4:30 p.m.

The event will reflect the ideals and the passions that motivated and defined President Farish as well as the bonds that he forged on campus and in the community.
“During his seven years at RWU, President Farish provided a vision for a modern university, aiming to ‘Build the University the World Needs Now’ and strongly positioning the institution for its next phase of growth,” RWU Interim President Andy Workman said. “I cannot imagine a leader with a more authentic drive for excellence, for relevance, for impact and for access in higher education. Please join us to honor his indelible legacy: a genuine love for students and a steadfast belief in the power of higher education to transform lives.”
