"Stop the Violence" Prayer Vigil to be Held at Burnside Park on Thursday

A prayer vigil with members of the Rhode Island faith communities and law enforcement leaders will take place at Burnside Park in Providence at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

The vigil is intended to "build bridges of understanding and cooperation," with the names of individuals who were killed by during an interaction with law enforcement remembered and called, as well as the names of law enforcement officers who were killed while in the line of duty.

The following community, faith, and law enforcement leaders are scheduled to speak at the vigil on Thursday.  The rain location will be Grace Episcopal Church at 175 Mathewson Street in Providence.

·         Toby Ayers

Drummers of Freedom, Divine Providence choir, Shofar are also scheduled to appear.
