Downtown Providence is rich in religious organizations, with 76.4 places of worship per 10,000 people. Upper South Providence comes in second place with 35.6 places of worship per 10,000.

Washington Park and Manton are the least religious, with 9.2 and 8.3 religious organizations per 10,000 people, respectively.

Find the Best also found the most prevalent kinds of places of worship. The winner? Not surprisingly there are 35 Catholic churches in the city, followed by 34 Christian (miscellaneous) churches and 31 Pentecostal churches.

Overall, there are 21.3 places of worship per 10,000 residents in Providence and 13.2 places of worship per 10,000 residents in Rhode Island.

The national average is 19.1 places of worship per 10,000 residents.
