Two People Shot in Providence Overnight, One in Critical Condition

Police are investigating a shooting with two victims in the city overnight. 

About Incident 

Shortly before 11 PM on Saturday, police responded to Swanton Street -- off of Route 10 -- for a report of shots fired.

Police said that upon arrival, they encountered a vehicle that had crashed through a fence into a baseball field. 

According to police, two victims were located with apparent gunshot wounds. 

The victims, a male and a female both in their 20s, were transported by rescue for treatment. 

The male victim is in critical condition. 

Detectives are investigating.
