US News and World Report Releases Best Colleges List - Where Do Locals Rank?

It's that time of year again - not just for going back to school, but for finding out which schools you'd want your kids going back to. For the 27th year in a row, US News and World Report announces its annual Best Colleges ranking list - including national and regional rankings of both colleges and universities. Where did our state weigh in? Read on to find out

The frontrunner in the competition was Brown University, placing 15th in the National Universities ranking list.

University of Rhode Island
was also ranked on the National Universities list, coming in at 167th.

Although other Rhode Island institutions were absent from the national rankings, many of them placed on the best regional ranking lists. On the best Regional Universities (North) list, Providence College ranked 2nd, Bryant University ranked 16th, Salve Regina University ranked 40th, Johnson and Wales University ranked 84th, and Rhode Island College ranked 105th. On the best Regional Colleges (North) list, Roger Williams University ranked 8th.
