Woman Arrested for Possession of $110K Worth of Cocaine & Fentanyl

Rhode Island State Police seized $110,000 worth of cocaine and fentanyl during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 95 in West Greenwich on Thursday.

Ana Melendez Santana, 23, of Providence was arrested and charged with, manufacture/possession/delivery of more than one kilo of cocaine, delivery/possession with intent to deliver and manufacture - cocaine, delivery/possession with intent to deliver and manufacture - fentanyl.

Santana was also cited for driving with an expired registration and operating a motor vehicle without evidence of insurance.

The Arrest

The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on Interstate 95 North near Weaver Hill Road in West Greenwich at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers seized several vacuum-sealed packages from a container of juice boxes in the car.

The packages were found to contain:

  • 3 kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated $100,000
  • 4.3 ounces of fentanyl worth an estimated $10,000
