Bill Lynch Campaigns for Cicilline

They were foes during the Democratic primary, but last Saturday that was all ancient history as Bill Lynch campaigned with fellow Democrat David Cicilline in East Providence.

“I’m looking forward to campaigning with David Cicilline … and supporting his candidacy to represent Rhode Island’s First Congressional district,” Lynch said. “After watching the latest round of debates, it is clear to me that John Loughlin’s position on a number of issues will not benefit Rhode Islanders.” (Loughlin is the Republican candidate in the race.)

Lynch added: “I’m particularly concerned with Loughlin’s support of privatizing Social Security, which will put seniors at risk. It is also disturbing that Loughlin wants to continue to provide tax breaks for companies that ship jobs oversees. Clearly John doesn’t understand the magnitude of Rhode Island’s unemployment problem. For these reasons, I (am) enthusiastically and formally endorsing David Cicilline for Congress this weekend.”
