Cicilline Appears on MSNBC, Talks LGBT Legislation

Congressman David Cicilline appeared Wednesday on the Thomas Roberts Show on cable news network MSNBC to discuss his legislation which would offer federal protections for the civil rights of LGBT individuals.

The bill, according to Cicilline, is “a comprehensive civil rights bill that will ensure LGBT individuals are afforded the same protections against discrimination as every other American.”

“America was founded, in part, on the idea that everyone should be treated equally and able to live their lives free from the fear of discrimination. Recent events in Indiana and around the country have highlighted that this is not the reality for all Americans. The new law enacted by the State of Indiana last week is completely contrary to these core American values and offers compelling evidence of the need for Federal protections to protect the rights of LGBT Americans.” Cicilline said in a statement yesterday.
