1.     What do you think is the biggest political issue this campaign season in Rhode Island?

The biggest issue Rhode Island faces is the lack of ethical, transparent and responsive government.  The countless bad bills that are passed during session, as well as the indictments, investigations and violations by our elected officials are proof that it’s time to elect new leaders at all levels of government.

2.     What do we need to do to improve Rhode Island's economy?

To improve Rhode Island’s economy, we need to ease unnecessary burdensome regulations and stop undermining success by allowing special interest groups to push their agenda across all levels of government.  Our state is ranked last for business due to a poor business environment and high taxes.    We need to take care of our own businesses and farms by creating an environment that allows them to flourish and provide jobs.  This atmosphere will create a climate that would entice other businesses to set up shop in Rhode Island.

3.     What is the greatest challenge facing Rhode Island as a state?

The greatest challenge facing Rhode Island is the fact that we are ranked at or near the bottom in several key categories due to control from special interest groups, high taxes and burdensome regulations. Rhode Islanders deserve to be represented by officials that will stop treating taxpayers like an ATM machine.

4.     Why are you running for office?

Besides my lifelong desire to serve the community, I am extremely concerned with the way lawmakers are running this state into the ground.  I am tired of the wasteful and careless spending, the personal agendas, corruption and lack of accountability of those sworn to represent the taxpayers in Rhode Island.  We need fundamental change and we also need to set the bar higher.  Rhode Islanders deserve better!

5.     Who is your inspiration?

I am inspired by my father, a long time business owner and lifelong Rhode Islander who faced many challenges in life and business.  He always told me to, “be smarter than the situation”.  Those five words, that I often resented and ignored became very poignant as I got older.  Being smarter than the situation means to rise above, to strive for the best solution and not give up on something that is important.  I cannot give up on Rhode Island, and I’ve never been one to sit idly by when disaster strikes.  Rhode Island is on life support and I along with other qualified candidates, have risen to the challenge to help our state rebound from decades of disastrous one-party democratic government.
