“Ahead of the upcoming primary election, Governor Gina Raimondo is hosting a public meet and greet event at a Providence bar. For over three years community members have been urging the Governor to oppose the fossil fuel power plant proposed for Burrillville and the liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility proposed for Providence. With key permitting decisions coming up for both projects, community groups are escalating pressure on the Governor to speak out against these widely unpopular fossil fuel proposals,” said the groups in their press release.
