Protecting and expanding the right to vote to eligible voters and supporting our small businesses

2.  What do we need to do to improve Rhode Island's economy?

Streamlining process, small businesses are bogged down by antiquated systems and don’t have the necessary info needed to be successful. The office of the Secretary of State can be effective in this space. RI economy is built on small businesses and in order for this state to thrive, we need to be more friendly to it. We should be able to attract startups and support more creatives we want their doors to stay open and help keep them open.

3.  What is the greatest challenge facing Rhode Island as a state?

The same old policy’s with the same old players are holding the state back. We have the same people in office whose concerns are not to facilitate improvement to the state but to stall progress when it comes to passing legislation.

Having fresh perspective and common sense goals that benefit all Rhode Islanders and not just a select few.

Our voting legislation is antiquated the state of our union no longer reflects those times. We contend with cybersecurity and cyber risk all things that were not reflected in the creation of old legislation and should expedite our efforts in having a robust voting systems.

4.  Why are you running for office? What makes you uniquely qualified?

I’m running office because I see a critical need for change. We hear many times people talk about the desire for young people to be more engaged in civic duty, to have more diversity, we discuss the need for fresh ideas and perspectives and here I am stepping up to this challenge.

This role requires a fresh touch from someone who’s not just one of the old boys. Someone who knows the value of hard work and who’s ready to make an impact.

This requires a candidate with experience in the tech space, working with people to achieve the desired outcome and whose ready to help facilitate the building of that solution.

5.  Who is your inspiration?

The matriarchs in my family, my great grandmother, was a midwife with no “formal” training but delivered many babies in her community she had a passion for helping and serving her community. My grandmother was an entrepreneur and sold imported goods she was a pioneering woman to be self-sufficient and coordinated the biggest group of entrepreneurs, mainly women, to own their own businesses. She was well respected and admired by all who knew her. My mother and aunt who continuously show me the value of hard work and to not only recognize the women in my family who led those core values of being resilient and the value of hard work.
