Statewide Poll: Can Brown or Morgan Win the Governorship?

The news out of GoLocal’s Statewide Poll for latecomer Matt Brown — Democratic candidate for Governor — is not bad. And, Harvard pollster John Della Volpe said in an interview with GoLocal LIVE, “Absolutely there is a path for Matt Brown."

"Again, I think it starts with expanding the franchise, including him really kind of focusing on young people, moving some independents, towards the ballot in September, but there's absolutely a path," said Della Volpe. 

According to a poll released today by GoLocal, in head to head races, Brown trails GOP candidate Allan Fung, but would defeat Republican House Minority Leader Patricia Morgan and Independent Joe Trillo.

If the election for Governor were held today and the candidates were: Democrat Matt Brown, Republican Allan Fung and Independent Joe Trillo - for whom would you vote?    

Allan Fung, a Republican         35%

Matt Brown, a Democrat           25%

Joe Trillo, an Independent        14%

If the election for Governor were held today and the candidates were: Democrat Matt Brown, Republican Patricia Morgan and Independent Joe Trillo - for whom would you vote?    

 

Matt Brown, a Democrat                  30%

Patricia Morgan, a Republican        20%

Joe Trillo, an Independent               18%

Don't know                                        33%

 

Correspondingly, the news for Patricia Morgan is less positive. She trails both Raimondo (see below) and Brown (see above) by 19 points and 10 points respectively.
