Taveras Gets Endorsement from United Food and Commercial Workers Union

Angel Taveras' run for governor picked up another union endorsement. The United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 328 endorsed Taveras in the race for Rhode Island Governor.

UFCW Local 328 represents approximately 12,000 members making it the largest local union in Southeastern New England, representing workers in retail food service, banking, transportation, manufacturing, health care, barbers & cosmetology and recycling.

“As the son of a single mother who came up in Providence, and was at one time a UFCW member himself, Angel understands the challenges that working families in Rhode Island face,” said Dave Fleming, President. “When we negotiated with Angel to unionize C-Town Supermarket, he was fair, honest, and always focused on getting an agreement that worked for everyone. That's leadership. We have no doubt that he is what Rhode Island needs in a Governor.”
