Advertising for “Streamer Crew” - Pawtucket Minor League Soccer Team is Creating Jobs

Rhode Island taxpayers are now on the hook for $132 million of debt payments for the cost of borrowing for the Tidewater Landing soccer stadium.

The city of Pawtucket has plugged in another $10 million in funding.

Despite the public investment, the stadium dubbed “Tidewater Landing” will be owned entirely by a private group led by California-based Brett Johnson. He has refused to disclose the names of the other investors.

But rest assured, the team, Rhode Island FC, has posted 15 positions that they are looking to fill — 12 of them are part-time.

In its first season, the team is scheduled to be played at Bryant University starting in March.

One of those positions the team is hiring for is the part-time position titled “Streamer Crew.”

Streamer Crew 

Up to (4) people collect streamers from the goal area during the match. (2) people at each goal. When a goal is scored, supporters are permitted to throw streamers into the air around the goal areas. The streamer crew will remove the streamers as quickly as possible before play resumes. This position is expected to arrive one hour before kickoff and remain until the end of the game.

Of the 15 positions now posted, 12 are part-time jobs. 

Besides the “streamer crew,’ the jobs include “part-time concessions stand lead,” “part-time ball kid coordinator,” and “part-time box office attendant.”

The three "manager-level" jobs include ticket operations manager, match day production manager, and senior manager of marketing partnerships.

Compensation levels are not included in the job descriptions. Repeated efforts to reach someone at the team office by phone were unsuccessful.

The team claims the Pawtucket stadium will be completed in time for the 2025 season.
