Billie Jean King to be Honored at Tennis Hall of Fame on Saturday

The International Tennis Hall of Fame is ready to host Hall of Famers Billie Jean King, Pam Shriver, Stan Smith, Gigi Fernandez, Rosie Casals, and Owen Davidson, as well as 2013 Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli and ESPN's Patrick McEnroe will be among the guests appearing during the Hall of Fame enshrinement weekend. The induction ceremony for the class of 2015 will take place on Saturday, July 18 at 12 p.m. on Bill Talbert Center Court and will be broadcast on the Tennis Channel.

Billie Jean King will be honored during a special presentation, where she will receive her Hall of Fame ring. King was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1987, however, rings were not introduced until 2011.

King is a 39 time grand slam champion including 12 singles, 16 women's doubles and 11 mixed doubles titles.

King made her debut in 1959 as a 15 year old and retired from singles competition at the end of the 1983 season.

Marion Bartoli, Gigi Fernandez and Patrick McEnroe will participate in the Hall of Fame exhibition match on the grass courts on Sunday, July 19.

Class of 2015

The class of 2015 includes former world No. 1 Amelie Mauresmo of France, 6-time Paralympic champion David Hall of Australia, and tennis industry leader Nancy Jeffett.

Mauresmo is unable to attend due to pregnancy but will be honored with a tribute exhibit in the museum. A celebration of her achievement will be planned for a future date.

International Tennis Hall of Fame

The International Tennis Hall of Fame was established in 1954 and dedicated to presenting and preserving the history of tennis.

The Tennis Hall of Fame unveiled their newly renovated museum  to the public on May 20, 2015.
