Bradley Jr.'s 2 RBI Triple Helps Red Sox Cruise Past Yankees 5-1

Jackie Bradley Jr. had a 2 RBI triple to help Red Sox win
Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a two-run triple in the second inning while pitcher Rick Porcello held the New York Yankees to just one run on three hits as the Boston Red Sox cruised past New York 5-1 at Fenway Park o Sunday.

The win gives the Red Sox a five game lead in the AL East as they improve to 71-52 on the season.

Boston has won 14 of their last 17 games.

Boston Takes Control Early

Boston’s Xander Bogaerts got on base with one out in the second following a single to right field. Sandy Leon singled to left field setting up Bradley Jr. with two men on base.

Bradley drove a ball one to the triangle in center field, scoring both Bogaerts and Leon before getting himself to third base for a triple to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead.

After New York’s Brett Gardner hit a home run in the 5th, Bradley Jr. added another RBI in the sixth on a single to give the Red Sox a 3-1 lead.

Boston would add two more runs in the 8th inning to cruise to the 5-1 victory.

The Red Sox return to action on Monday, August 21 when they visit the Cleveland Indians at 7 p.m.

The pitching matchup is Boston’s Eduardo Rodriguez against Cleveland’s Mike Clevinger.
