Brown Bears Lose 79-58 to Austin Peay, Drop to 1-5

The Brown Bears men's basketball team (1-5) dropped their fifth straight game losing 79-58 to (2-4) Austin Peay in the Las Vegas Invitational. The Bears led 38-33 at the half but in the second half, the Governors opened with a 31-8 run that put them up 64-46 with just under ten minutes to go. Brown was not able to recover.

In the game, the Bears were without senior forward Raphael Maia who sat out with a stomach bug that has recently been going through the team.

Leland King led the Brown Bears with 20 points in the game on nine of fifteen shooting from the floor while also grabbing seven rebounds while Cedric Kuakumensah scored 15 points and blocked four shots in the game. 

Chris Freeman led the Austin Peay Governors with 20 points in the win. 

Browns next game will be on Friday, November 28th against Stephen F Austin or Prairie View at 2:30 p.m. as the Las Vegas Invitational continues.
