End of the Road for the Rams: URI Loses to La Salle in A-10 Tourney
The #14-seeded Rams were ousted 56-73 on Tuesday.
URI finished the regular season 9-21 overall, and 5-13 in the Atlantic 10.

It was just six seasons ago that the Rams, under then-coach Dan Hurley, went to the second round of the NCAA tournament with a record of 26-8.
This was a season of frustrating losses and the Rams saw its most talented offensive player Brayon Freeman leave the program.
Lost Season
As GoLocal wrote in February, the writing was on the wall.

On Saturday, the University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team hosted the University of Massachusetts at the Ryan Center. It was a rivalry game.
There were a lot of VIPs in attendance.
Tom Garrick, Silk Owens, Kenny Green, and other URI greats were on hand in recognition of the 1987-88 Sweet Sixteen team. Even former URI coach Jim Harrick was there — he coached the Ram’s Elite 8 team in 1997-98.
The game attracted ESPN’s national audience, and Matt Martucci was there to handle the play-by-play, with former NCAA coach Tom Crean as the color analyst.
But who wasn’t there — the URI students.
