Former New England Patriots QB Ryan Mallett Dies at 35

Former New England Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallett has died at the age of 35. 

Mallett, who played at Michigan and Arkansas during college, drowned in Florida, according to reports

The Patriots drafted Mallett in the third round in 2011. He played in four games in two seasons before he was traded to the Texans.

Mallett played in 21 NFL games with New England, Houston and the Baltimore Ravens, and had eight career starts. 

Following his NFL career, Mallett coached at Mountain Home High School in Arkansas before he was named head coach at White Hall High.

“It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Coach Ryan Mallett,” the White Hall School District said in a statement. “Coach Mallett was a beloved coach and educator. We ask that you remember his family, team, students, fellow coaches, and the White Hall School District staff in your prayers.”
