Gronk Throws Patriots Under the Bus on Jimmy Kimmel

Once upon a time, Rob Gronkowski loved the team he won three Super Bowls with -- the New England Patriots.

On Jimmy Kimmel this week, Gronk threw the Pats under the bus when talking about teaming up with former Patriot teammate Tom Brady on January 7, 2022 with the Bucs to catch his 7th pass of the day against the Panthers to receive a $1 million bonus.

At the 6:30 mark, Kimmel asks Gronk about getting the catch he needed for the bonus — before Gronk throws shade at the Patriots.

Kimmel talks about Brady staying in the game so Gronkowski could get his bonus for the year, then shows a clip of the play.

“If I don’t get that seventh catch…I’ve got to go get a real job,” Gronk can be heard saying on the sideline.

Of course, Gronk goes in, gets the catch, and the bonus.

“It really tickles me that goes on,” said Kimmel after playing the clip. “Have you seen that story of stuff happening before, where guys need one more hit to meet some performance bonus?”

“I’ve seen it before — actually, not with the Patriots, though, I mean, they’ll probably pull you before you hit that bonus," said Gronk.

His remarks promptly garnered applause from the audience.

“Uh, I shouldn’t have said that,” said Gronk.

“But you did say it and I’m glad you did,” said Kimmel.

“You're welcome,” said Gronk.
