Former University of Rhode Island basketball star Lamar Odom has been deactivated by the Big3, a professional three-on-three basketball league created by Ice Cube, just days before the league’s game in Providence.

Odom was one of four players deactivated by the league for the remainder of the season, the others being Baron Davis, former Celtic Jermaine O’Neal, and Bonzi Wells.

“Such changes are being implemented to maximize competition, protect the health of players, and to raise the level of professionalism in the Big3. As the premier professional 3-on-3 league in the world, we are always striving to improve the quality of both the live and broadcast experience for our fans as well as the level of completion,” writes the Big3 in their press release.

The Big3 will be in Providence on Saturday for a noontime game at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

Odom Deactived

For Odom, the deactivation comes after he played just one game in the league.

To start the season, Odom was named the captain of The Enemies team, but struggled in his first game.

He did not play again.

This all comes after Odom announced that he would play in the Big3 this season just four years after he was hospitalized after being found unresponsive at a brothel in Las Vegas following a drug overdose in 2015, as GoLocalProv reported.

Glen Davis Fined

Former Boston Celtic Glen “Big Baby” Davis was “fined significantly” after arguing a foul call and getting ejected in a game earlier this month.

As the video shows, once he was thrown out, he climbed into the crowd and stripped to his underwear, throwing his clothes everywhere.

According to the Big3, Davis will be eligible for Saturday’s game after avoiding suspension.
