Cranston West Falls to South Carolina in LLWS Opener

Cranston West Little League fell 7- 1 to South Carolina on Friday evening at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Cranston West returns to action on Saturday night at 8 p.m.

Cranston fell behind early when South Carolina's Alex Edmondson got things started in the top of the first inning with a line drive, two run home run to put SC up 2-0 in the game.

Cranston West did push one run across in the bottom of the first inning after a walk, however, Carolina would add another run in the top of the second to go up 3-1 in the game.

South Carolina would go up 4-1 on a home run blast by Terrence Gist to left field.

South Carolina pitcher Alex Edmondson had 15 strikeouts and no hit Cranston West, striking out nine of his last ten batters. This was Edmondson's second straight no hitter going back o the regional round.
