Patriots fall to Jacksonville
The New England Patriots fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-20 in an AFC Championship rematch on Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville, Florida.

The loss is New England's first to Jacksonville since the 1998 AFC Wild Card Game. 

The loss drops the Patriots to 1-1 on the season, Jacksonville improves to 2-0 on the year.

Patriots Rally Fall Short

The Jacksonville Jaguars jumped out to a 24-3 lead following a Josh Lambo 28-yard field goal with 7:50 left in the third quarter.

The Patriots would score their first touchdown of the game when quarterback Tom Brady found Chris Hogan in the back of the end zone to cut the Jaguars lead to 24-10 following a Stephen Gostkowski extra point.

Following a Gostkowski field that cut the Jaguars lead to 24-13, the Patriots would get the ball back after Kyle Van Noy picked off Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles.

On that possession, Brady would be sacked on a third and nine by Dante Fowler Jr. and fumble the ball, Fowler would recover the ball.

The Jaguars would seal the game when Bortles would hit Dede Westbrook for a 61-yard touchdown to take a 30-13 lead.

The Patriots would add a touchdown in the final minutes when Brady connected with Hogan for the second time in the game, but they were unable to get the ball back. 

Brady finished the game completing 24 of 35 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. 

Meanwhile, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was held to just two catches for 15 yards.

The Patriots return to action on Sunday, September 23 when they visit the Detroit Lions.
