Bill Belichick Patriots to visit White House on April 19
The New England Patriots will celebrate their Super Bowl 51 championship at the White House on Wednesday, April 19. They will be the first championship celebration of the Donald Trump administration.

The announcement was made by White House spokesman Sean Spicer on Thursday during a press conference.

“I’m proud to announce that on April 19, the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the New England Patriots will be visiting the White House to celebrate their latest — and what will be probably be a continuation of many more to come — Super Bowl win,” said Spicer.

The celebration should be interesting given that Trump has been a big supporter of the Patriots all along.

One example is Trump wishing the Patriots luck in the AFC Championship game the night before his inauguration. Trump made the comments during the candlelight dinner at Union Station. Patriots owner Robert Kraft was in attendance.

The Patriots would go on to complete the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, coming back from 25 points down to beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in Houston. The Super Bowl victory was the Patriots second in three years.

Players Not Attending

Several players will be absent from the celebration.

Those players include Marcellus Bennett, Devin McCourty, Chris Long, LeGarrette Blount, Alan Branch, and Dont’a Hightower.
