PC Men’s Basketball Escapes Green Bay

The Providence College men’s basketball team defeated the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay at home 79-65.

The Friars are now 4-0.

Despite the record, it was another difficult win for the Friars.

The Friars had a 10-point lead in the first half and then coughed it up. Green Bay knotted the score at 36-36 at half-time.

In the first half, PC shot better from the field than it did after missing numerous lay-ups. PC shot 42.9% behind the 3-point line and 41.4% overall from the field.

 

Second Half

Behind two 3’s from Marcus Hall, Green Bay opened up a 44-40 lead.

Then another 3 by Hall stretched the lead to 47-41.

The Friars responded.

The Friars tied the game 50-50 on a Will Cardet, Jr. to Corey Floyd Jr. alley-top dunk with 16:45 left in the second half.

Jayden Pierre led the Friars with 18 points on 7 of 10 shooting.

Green Bay star Anthony Roy had 15 points in the first half and then went ice cold. He finished with 17 points.
