PC Men’s Basketball Struggles, But Pulls Away From UMass

It was not pretty for the Providence College men’s basketball team on Saturday at a pre-season exhibition game against the University of Massachusetts.

 

The Friars shot just 23% from the 3-point line and 62.5% from the free-throw line, but the Friars won 63-54 at home.

PC was led by Corey Floyd, Jr. with 19 points, and University of Miami transfer Bensley Joseph with 13.

 

Freshmen star Oswin Erhunmwunse added 12 points and 6 rebounds.

Providence led 32-29 at the half.

 

UMass was playing with a nearly entirely new roster due to portal transfers out and in.

 

Jaylen Curry led the Minutemen with 13 points — he was an All-A10 rookie team last season.
