PC's Gillies Signs Three Year Deal With NHL's Calgary Flames

PC hockey goaltender Jon Gillies has signed a three year entry level deal with the Calgary Flames. The Flames drafted Gillies in 2012. Gillies will join the Flames in Vancouver as they get ready for their first round playoff series against the Canucks. 

Gillies with Providence

Gilles is coming off an NCAA Championship victory with the Friars, beating Boston University 4-3 in the Final. Gillies was named Most Outstanding Player in the Frozen Four.

Gillies made 49 saves in the title game. 

Gillies leaves NCAA hockey with a record of 60-34-13 and a goals against average of 2.08 and a .931 save percentage. 

Jon Gillies was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week in 2012-13 and Hockey East Goalie of the Year in 2014-15. 

With Calgary

Gillies will practice with the team in Vancouver but likely will not dress for any of the playoff games unless there is an emergency, as he will be the third string goaltender.
