Stenhouse, RI Celebrities to Face Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team at Cranston Stadium

Former Major League Baseball player Mike Stenhouse will be one of several former professional baseball players and Rhode Island celebrities who will take on the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball team at Cranston Stadium. 

Over the course of an eight-year career, Stenhouse played for the Montreal Expos, Minnesota Twins, and Boston Red Sox. 

The celebrity team will be coached by Dave Stenhouse (Father of Mike Stenhouse), who had a professional baseball career of his own, making the 1962 All-Star game as a rookie.

The game will take place on Friday, June 2 at 6 pm. 

Softball Weekend at Cranston Stadium

Friday’s game will be the first of three softball games played on the weekend with all proceeds benefiting the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball team. 

The other two games will take place on Saturday, June 3 when the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball team will battle the Rhode Island National Guard at noon.

They will then take on the Veterans All-Stars at 2 p.m.

Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team 

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball team to play three games at Cranston Stadium
The team is a slow pitch softball team that is made up of young Veterans and active duty soldiers who have suffered an injury, resulting in amputation while serving in the military and protecting our country.

Through extensive and intense rehabilitation, they have become athletes again. 

Historically, they win 70% of their games.
