The photo shows the expansion being constructed to what is believed to be the second-floor master bedroom.
Donna Simmons of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International said there is great fun among residents in the Watch Hill area, speculating that the addition could be a trophy room or even a nursery.
Simmons says Swift is a great resident who is often seen shopping locally in the area.
Simmons was the top realtor in Watch Hill in 2024.
As GoLocal reported in 2013:
Everyone knows by now that Taylor Swift paid cash for her new Rhode Island digs in Watch Hill, but GoLocal wanted to know more. With a current assessed value of $12,415,400, and a Westerly tax rate of $9.34 per thousand, Taylor has a real estate tax for 2012 of $115,960 or $9,663.32 per month.
According to Arthur Chapman of William Raveis, the state of Rhode Island is already feeling the economic impact of Swift's purchase. "At the closing," Chapman said, "the State of Rhode Island collected $49,662 in transfer tax. Will that solve the pension problem?"
