RI-Israel Collaborative to Host Forum on Neuroscience Technologies

The Rhode Island-Israel Collaborative is set to present a new event titled “Disruptive Neuroscience Technologies Changing the World Today.”

“Exciting times are ahead for the field of neuroscience. From new clinical treatments to improved brain-computer interfaces and beyond, advances in neuroscience herald a promising era for translating basic knowledge into practical tools to improve the human condition. Our forum offers the opportunity to highlight these discoveries and to deepen our understanding of the brain in health and disease,” said Carol Malysz, Executive Director, RI Bio.

The event will take place on September 18 and early bird tickets are available until August 30.

The Event

Leaders in the field from Rhode Island and Israel will provide their insights and perspectives on how disruptive neuroscience technologies are changing the world.

“We at the Rhode Island-Israel Collaborative (RIIC) are pleased to welcome the Rhode Island and Israeli speakers at this exciting event. Advances in Brain Science and Technology and Artificial Intelligence are the forefront of our future. Advances in both fields and interaction between them are critical for the future of humanity. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from experts in the field,” said Avi Nevel, CEO and Founder of the RIIC.

The keynote speaker will be Prof. Alon Friedman, M.D., Ph.D., who led the establishment of the Inter-Faculty Brain Sciences School at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). He holds the Dr. Helena Rachmanska-Putzman Chair in Neurology and is also the former director of the University’s Zlotowski Center for Neuroscience, and the event will be moderated by Dr. Kunal Mankodiya, Director Wearable Biosensing Lab, University of Rhode Island (URI).

Panelist Speakers include Dr. Walter Besio, Electrical, Computer, & Biomedical Engineering, Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program, University of Rhode Island (URI), Dr. Elinor Amit, Assistant Professor of the Coller School of Management, Tel Aviv University and Research Scientist at Brown University and Dr. Rachel Rac-Lubashevsky, Fulbright scholar and a postdoc fellow at the Neural Computation and Cognition lab at Brown University.
